Cougar P.A.W.S. – Parents Always Willing to Serve
The purpose of Cougar P.A.W.S. is to have every family serve at Community Christian Academy in some way. Each year, families are given opportunities to list areas where they can volunteer, however you are not limited to these areas. Community Christian Academy will make every effort to inform parents where their assistance is needed, and ask for their assistance either through the Classroom, Office, Volunteer Coordinators, Cougar Gram or Emails. For those parents involved in Judgment House (church and school drama), your volunteer hours may go towards fulfilling your school volunteer commitment. This will be the only church event that may go towards meeting the school volunteer hours.
The Cougar P.A.W.S. requirement is 10 hours per child per year (30 hour cap for families with 3 or more children). There are many areas of volunteer opportunities. In addition, many classrooms will have specific needs throughout the year and you will be informed by the administration, teachers, or staff. Parents are required to keep track of their hours and log them in the volunteer log book which is kept in the school office. You may also email your hours to Denise Lindahl at dlindahl@ccacougars.net.
Hours not served will result in a $10.00 per hour not served fee. This fee will be charged to the May tuition payment. An update of your hours will be available during the school year by checking in the log book in the school office. Examples of how hours can be earned:
☺ Attend School meetings
☺ Drive on Field Trips,
☺ Work in the Library
☺ Help with School Events & Fundraising
☺ Serve in Leadership Positions - Volunteer Coordinator, Auction Committee, Committee Coordinators
☺ Volunteer your time for Athletics, Help in the Classroom, Off campus
☺ Use Your Skills to Help with School Improvements or Areas of Need
☺ Speak in Chapel
☺ Plus Many Many More…
All volunteers must be fingerprinted prior to volunteering on campus or on a field trip with the responsibility of supervising children.
Fingerprinting is done through the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. The forms are available in the school office.
We look forward to achieving great things as a team!
