Dear Parents,

As we get ready for the ’09-‘10 school year, let me take this opportunity to welcome our new families and their students. I also want to welcome back those who were here last year. I’m excited to be back, and I am looking forward to what God has in store for all of us this year.

Allow me to encourage you to look over the attendance, homework, and discipline policies with your child, as it will benefit you both to fully understand them. If you have any questions, please e-mail me at {jwill@cca.cougars.net}.

For this year, the 6^th and 7^th grade classes will not be reading a novel. All of our reading comprehension work will come from the English textbook.

8^th grade English will need to have THE HIDING PLACE by Corrie Ten Boom with them in class by Tuesday, September 8, 2009.

For 8^th Bible, please make sure your student has the NIV Translation. Using other translations could make their weekly memory verse tests more difficult.

9^th grade English will need TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD by Harper Lee with them in class no later than Tuesday, September 8, 2009. It is my goal to also read THE TENT: A PARABLE IN ONE SITTING by Gary Paulsen. However, we should not begin this book until the second semester.
