Message from our Administrator

Thank you for your interest in Community Christian Academy. It is a privilege to partner with parents in their God-given responsibility to raise their children according to the instruction of the Lord.

At CCA, Our greatest desire is to faithfully proclaim the gospel to every student who walks through our doors. We pray that the Lord would use this ministry to save souls and raise up a generation of godly men and women who are prepared to stand firm on the truth in a world that hates it.

We believe that salvation is the work of the Lord alone, but the means of salvation is through the proclamation of the word. We are committed to ensuring that no student leaves this ministry without a clear picture of the gospel, along with instruction on how to live in obedience to it.

Community Christian Academy is not the right fit for every family. But for those who are seeking a school that unashamedly stands on the truth of God’s word and is intentional about integrating biblical truth into every area of life, CCA may be exactly what you are looking for.

One of the greatest strengths of our school is that it is a ministry of Community Baptist Church. This connection provides strong spiritual leadership and a church family that loves our students. As a graduate, I have personally experienced the lasting impact of this connection, and it is a privilege to now serve within both the school and the church.

While we are committed to academic excellence and preparing students for life beyond graduation, our greatest joy is seeing students and families grow spiritually – whether that means finding a church home or simply knowing they have a place to turn to where they are loved, prayed for, and consistently pointed to the truth.

It is an honor and a joy to serve as the Administrator of this ministry. I invite you to continue exploring our website to learn more about who we are, including our commitments listed below. We would love the opportunity to partner with your family.

Our Commitments

One of my responsibilities as the Administrator is to develop a strategic plan. A strategic plan is basically a list of goals and how we plan to accomplish them over the next several years.

It can contain goals such as raising funds for a new playground, continue to develop our intramural sports program, develop or evaluate curriculum, etc. - the normal practical things that we strive to do as a school.

Then there are some that never come off the list. Some goals that we will always keep before us and always strive to accomplish especially in light of the present realities in our world.

There are 3 essential commitments of CCA. These 3 things encapsulate who we are and why we believe CCA is an excellent service to Christian families in the Martin County area.

  • We strive to ensure that God’s glory is the chief aim of all developments at CCA. If it doesn’t honor the Lord, we won’t do it. And if the Lord commands it, we will do it. But the Bible doesn’t say what curriculum we should use or whether we should upgrade our technology, for example.

So yes, there are lots of things the Bible doesn’t speak directly about, but we strive to think through everything through the lens of Scripture and ask ourselves: Is this program going to encourage and promote faithfulness to God’s Word, or is it going to distract from it?

Maybe we are a bit outdated when it comes to technology — largely on purpose. Why? While technology can be great in some ways, overall, do we really think it is drawing students closer to the Lord, or is it pulling them away? I think the answer is clear.

Those are just examples, but we strive to be most concerned about God and giving others a high view of Him.

    Romans 11:36
“For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.”

This is why we strive to do all things with excellence, whether it’s academics, after-school activities, school programs, chapel, and so on. It’s all an opportunity to glorify Him and reveal Him as He is in His Word.

We even strive to view the exposure of sin in a student’s life as a grace from the Lord and an opportunity to glorify God — for the student, the staff member, and the parents. It’s an opportunity to train them in righteousness and for their sin to be exposed in a godly environment where they will be instructed in the truth and, Lord willing, prepared to glorify the Lord when they are grown and no one else is watching and the world is encouraging sin.

  • If we have a high view of God as we should, then we must also have a high view of His Word. For where do we learn about who God is and that we ought to do everything for His glory? In His written revelation of Himself. In His Word. If you love God, then you love His Word.

His Word is our ultimate authority. His Word is the source of truth and the only book that makes sense of the world we live in and what we are supposed to do about it.

God’s Word is where we learn of our great need for a Savior and God’s great provision of the gospel.

Even the most well-behaved students are sinners and need to hear that from kindergarten through 12th grade. This stands in stark contrast to what the world is trying to teach them at every turn. The world says, “You’re a good person. Follow your heart. Believe in yourself no matter what.” But God’s Word says friendship with the world is hostility toward God (James 4:4). Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Christ (Matthew 16:24).

Why do we teach them these hard truths from Scripture? So that they might turn to Christ. So that they would know the greatest news in all of history. His Word is where we learn that God provided a Savior through the sacrifice of His own Son. God’s Word has the power to save, and it is the only true source of hope for our students.

It’s not about simply teaching kids to have good moral values or just making sure students know they can’t change their gender — though those things are important in today’s world, and that alone makes us stand out. But that’s such a low bar.

I met with a family a while back who was telling me about the school their child was coming from. The school was providing a litter box in the restroom for a child who identified as a cat. And so what can often happen is that people recognize they don’t want that. They don’t want their kids being taught this nonsense, and rightfully so. But people do not always recognize that the solution is not simply teaching conservative values. To just teach that you can’t change your gender, you can’t be a cat, and you should be nice to other people — all true — is still not enough.

The solution to these issues goes much deeper than that. If we were just about teaching conservative values for their own sake, then we would be in the business of training up Pharisees — self-righteous people who are still lost and do not know it. That might create productive, respectable citizens, but it does not address the main issue, which is sin in our hearts. We teach students that they are sinners so we can show them how great our Savior is.

We exist to proclaim Christ and to carry out the Great Commission by teaching students to obey all that Christ has commanded. We are unashamed to declare the whole counsel of God. To use the words of Martin Luther, we strive to make sure that “God’s Word reigns paramount.”

“I am much afraid that the schools will prove the very gates of hell, unless they diligently labour in explaining the Holy Scriptures, and engraving them in the hearts of youth. I advise no one to place his child where the Scriptures do not reign paramount. Every institution in which men are not unceasingly occupied with the Word of God must be corrupt.” - Martin Luther

  • We exist for parents. We exist to support parents in their God-given responsibility to diligently teach their children God’s Word (Deut. 6), to raise them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Eph. 6), and to train them to mature in godliness so that they will become godly, responsible adults.

We do not take the role of parents, but we do believe it is important for parents to have other people partnering with them to share truth with their children as well. We are thrilled to partner with parents in this church and in this community to give their children the opportunity for a biblically based education that supports their God-given task rather than works in opposition to it.

And the world is working in opposition to it. The world views it as a shameful thing to raise your children according to God’s Word — to actually do all that it says. But God says it is the best thing for them. So we simply want to be another voice in their lives pointing them to the Savior.

Harvard University was founded in 1636, originally with the intention of training men to be pastors. Obviously, much has changed since then. Harvard’s “Rules and Precepts” were adopted in 1646 and state this:

“Let every Student be plainly instructed, and earnestly pressed to consider well the main end of his life and studies is to know God and Jesus Christ which is eternal life (John 17:3) and therefore to lay Christ in the bottom, as the only foundation of all sound knowledge and learning.”

Our greatest desire is to give students Christ — to reveal who He is in the Word so that they would know Him.
